Tetra Pak "Design for Good Competition" : Cradle-to-cradle

Concept & Idea

"Cradle-to-cradle" turns the Tetra Pak drink box into a pouch for germination. The box can contain liquid securely, which can sustain a damp environment for a longer period of time without constant watering. The shreds, made from the layer of branding of the Tetra Pak juice box, together with the used coffee grounds, act as soil for the seed to grow.

The function of the pouch is of the same theme as this project: to promote environmental habits. The design functions efficiently, as the entire box is used effectively in the making of the pouch. The pouch is also of a convenient size, making it a pleasant size for people to use and learn about planting.

The pouch is easy to build, and does not require a lot of materials. This design does not only recycle the drink box, but also reduces waste by utilising used coffee grounds.

"Cradle-to-cradle", from the birth of the drink box, to the birth of a new life.
