CONCEPT
BUILDING IS MUSIC
The idea was to create an urban acupuncture whereby music interaction can be expressed anywhere, turning the building into an instrument that reflects the sound of Paramount Garden.

PROGRAMME
The proposed programme for the Architectural Design Studio 6 (Final Year) located at the heart of Paramount Garden, Petaling Jaya is an Upcycling Music Center. A site rejuvenation requires something that is in the need of the site in order to be successful, in our case, the lack of entertainment since the Paramount Cinema. This has triggered the idea of music application into the site. Music is one of the best ways to unite the people regardless of age group. With the recycling awareness programme merging into music, it gives the people the opportunity to get their hands on experience in music by building the instruments itself out of recyclable items. This can also help the people to understand how an instrument works at its best. Programmes as such enable the people of PJ to bring out their talents and also to find out their interest through interaction in music. It is possible to transform Paramount Garden into a well-known site for its recycling awareness and also the people that turns it into a trend. Recycle items can be brought out from the automobile service centre around and also from the residence themselves hence contribute in reducing the rubbish found around the site, cleaning up the streets of Paramount Garden.

The artist colony also allows professional musicians to visit, perform and to conduct exclusive tutorial lessons to the people, attracting the younger crowd back to the site. Training and performance events can be taken place from time to time to produce local musicians and orchestra bands. The programme itself is a strong message of awareness in many different ways.

DIAGRAM
1)The site given was a right-angle triangle with the size of 8,000sqm

2)By understand important the corners are as
it strikes the first impression of the visitors to the site

3)3 points potential facades are marked as 'Reaching out' while
the inverted points are marked as 'Bringing in'

4) A triangle was then formed while keeping the 3point facades and
extruded 3 floors for the programmes
5)The west facing block was cleared out for better view enhancement and
rejuvenating the dormant side of the area

6)The blocks were then pushed back to increase surface exposure for performance,
also to create a sort of public-to private space flow.

Little features were adding into the building to enhance poetic senses in "Visualizing Music"pools of shallow water are placed in the heart of the building while steel pole runs across the structure of the building. When music or even any movement are creating from the space within, the vibration of the pole will cause water ripples that flows within the courtyard.

RENDERINGS
West Side Facade (Exterior)The material of white concrete finish is intentionally used as though the building itself is a canvas, human interactions are like paintings moving across the building, giving life and colour to the canvas

Lobby The entrance of the building is designed in a way that it can be partially used as a creative platform, turning a waiting area into an instant stage.

GalleryThe pole that runs across the structure of the building, through the glass gallery box and into the glass platform filled with water.

Communal Space  An accommodation space for the visitors and artists. Individual rooms and couple rooms are placed at the highest floor of the building, providing privacy. As the users leave their rooms towards the main court, the corridor is oriented to view towards  greenary (Paramount Garden). It is open and ventilated as tho the building from within is like-wise outdoor.

Open StageAn open amphitheater located at the south wing of the building providing a proper place for bigger performances. While the space is left unused, it blends in as part of the landscape for the building.

Open Jamming PlatformsWhere creative minds connect, to "shake" and to give life to the building.
