SUPREMACY
The Ruler & Prisoner concept.
The Japanese and The British had their glory moments taking over Malaya during WWII and again, the both had their time powerless. In the fortress, different incidents of the past happened at the same spot like its over lapping one another.
"Whatever the Rules does above, affects the people under them"
The Japanese and The British had their glory moments taking over Malaya during WWII and again, the both had their time powerless. In the fortress, different incidents of the past happened at the same spot like its over lapping one another.

British first came to Malaya to expand their power and had taken control over Malaya for their own profits during the WWII. A fortress was then secretly built by the British in the 1930s as a self defense base for war. During World War 2, the Japanese invaded Malaya by land, ambushing the British military and the forced the British army to fleed.
Soldiers that surrendered were captured and tortured in the fortress, along with the locals. After the attack on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the Japanese armies retreated and the British came back to take control. The process of one taking over another from time to time shows how people with power rules over the powerless.
As simple as how the fortress originally belongs to nature, and man took over. Years later while the fortress was left abandoned, nature took over the fortress. This project was inspired by the whole idea of Supremacy.

The Golden PoleJust like a throne that a superior deserves
Golden StepsShinny golden steps for the visitors to interact with. The structure platforms act as a place for somebody to stand higher for a better view.
Holes on the GroundThe only way that allows lights down below
The TransitionThe line between glory and dark eras
The Dark TunnelThis is the tunnel lights from above are shined down below.
DisturbanceAs the people above move around, it disrupts the light ray shining down to the tunnel, creating a sort of disturbance as the visitors to try to read the darkest story of the fortress.
The RebirthThe exit for the dark side of the centre. The golden pole that extrude high up above ground can be seen from below that create a sort of hard escape for the "freedom"
The Glory againSuperior when they reclaim their rights.
