Concept & Idea
The visitor's journey begins through a visual sensation. Whereby, the aerodynamics form acts as a sumbolic recognition of the program itself without the intention to mock the trgic incident. This is to represent the sense of importance. By arriving at the South-East side of the building where the entrance seats at the direction of the crash site and enter the building through the North-West path, a gesture of putting the past behind and move forward to the future.
The site proposed is located in Armsterdam, Netherlands.

Black Box:
It is design to house information that transit from a picture gallery to a gallery of words where the light becomes dimer. The words becomes harder to be notice and the only focus is the 'name of the departed' shining down into the room. Which to remember the name and the person of the departed and not the tragic death and incident.
Secondary meaning: The unclear story as the words becomes hard to read.
Reflective Pool Garden:
The pool reflected the sky which represent the meaning of one being closer to the departed. As they move down the platform, the path slowly diverge more and the pool slowly becomes smaller in pieces in which as though it spreads outwards from the top platform. This shows the end of the journey for the departed as THEY retire to the gates of white while the visitors begin their new chapter in life by phasing into the recreational park.

MEMORIAL MH17
Over time the incident of mh17 slowly faded off into the history of
another tragic incident, while the grief of it still haunts the days and nights
of some. In respond, the memorial will be a place of remembrance of the
departed; a place that allow us to close the doors of the depress incident and
open a new door as we move forward.
The visitor journey begins through a visual sensation. Whereby, the
aerodynamic form acts as a symbolic recognition of the program itself without
the intention to mock the tragic incident From far it will seem as though the
building floats on the sea and dissolved into the air. As one approach closer
and closer to the island, the scale of the building becomes greater and
greater. This is to represent how greatly the sense of importance THEY are to
us. By arriving at the southeast point of the triangle where the entrance seats
at the direction of the Ukraine (location of the incident), the visitor will
continue their journey and enter the building through the northwest path, a
gesture of putting the past behind and move forward to the future.
Upon entering the gallery, the ‘black box’ is design to house
information of the incident. As the visitors move on, the information transit
from a picture gallery into just gallery of words. At the same time, the
lighting in the space slowly becomes dimer and the words, that have colour
which are as similar as the walls, becomes harder to be read. In which, at that
very moment one will only notice the names of the departed shine down into the
space. With more and more sound proofing material are used to allow a more
peaceful and quiet surrounding. This is intended to show the message of
remembering the people, the names and not the tragic death and incident of that
day. Further more, the ‘black box’ lies another secondary meaning into it. With
information slowly becomes harder to be notice, this are to represent the
unclear truth about the whole incident.
Slowly, the 'Black Box' will ascend the visitor's out into the outdoor reflective pool garden, which they arrive on the highest platform of the roof. With ramps and steps allowing them to move from one platform to the other, one can never stop noticing the reflection of the sky on the shallow pool. This is a way to bring the visitors closer to the departed and representations of them being close. As they move from the highest platform to the lowest, the pathway slowly diverged out more and more; the numbers of the reflective pool decreases and the number reduces. Whereby this ends the journey of the departed as they are retiring into the gates of white, which also ends one of the chapter of the trip and allow the visitor to open a newchapter------ the chapter of moving forward, where the it is the end of the reflective pool garden and the beginning of the park. The park is the place of rejoice and relieve. A place where one can enjoy the view of the sea and enjoy the brief of the wind with beautiful flowers and trees around.
